The Graveyard Book - Neil Gaiman I only gave this book three stars. The book was good, but a little juvenile for my tastes. In fact, throughout the first chapter, I found the illustrations distracting. The book centers around the adventures of a boy who lives in a graveyard and is raised by Count Dracula and a bunch of ghosts. I think that if I were in middle school when this book came out, I would have given it 5 stars. The story was well told and the characters were interesting. As an adult, however, I found the story lacking, especially the end of the story. At the point where the boys purpose as the main character is revealed, it is done without any detail, therefore it falls short. I would have liked more detail about the Jack of All Trades unions, why they were after Bod, and why they singled out his family. One or two sentences about some prophecy was not enough.
